Following on from the success Simpson West has seen since reopening our doors back in June, I felt it was a good time to update our sellers, landlords, buyers, and tenants on our thoughts, plans, and goals for the next few months.

With over 30 years’ experience in estate agency, I’m very used to the patterns of the industry and the fluctuations in supply/demand throughout the years, however, this year has been new to us all!

High demand for housing in Corby

We’re seeing continued high demand for housing across Corby, with townhouses, countryside homes, and apartments all selling within days of being listed, even with house price increases. Thanks to the stamp duty holiday, buyers are desperate to move before the tax is reintroduced in March 2021, and with sales taking between 15 and 25 weeks on average, those still looking to move home are squeezing that deadline more tightly every day.

Although we’re just stepping out of summer, buyers are already thinking about their ability to move before Christmas, which is also helping to ramp up demand, so I can’t say this enough, if you’re planning to put your home on the market, now is the time to do it!

I’ve been keeping a close eye on the UK’s situation and with the government’s recent announcements that aim to support jobs and reduce the number of redundancies, I’m confident the housing market will remain strong as the year closes.
